The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, also known as the “Toy Train”, was the first hill passenger railway in India and is considered to be a marvel of 19th-century engineering. The railway covers a distance of 78 kilometers and passes through 87 bridges and 550 sharp curves, including several spirals and loops, as it winds its way through the picturesque landscape of the Darjeeling hills.
